Network of Employers for Traffic Safety -
This power point presentation was developed as a sustainability resource for coalitions to use when communicating and working with local employers.
Sustainability Toolkit -
The Sustainability Took Kit was developed to educate coalition members about key elements for success to sustain community initiatives. There are eight elements that constitute the sustainability framework which are critical for achieving a stable base of resources that, in turn, can help lead to long-term sustainability of community initiatives. The eight elements in the tool kit are: vision for coalitions, key champions, broad community support, strong internal systems, justify the need, strategic financing, adaptability to changing conditions, and the sustainability plan.

Also, the Tool Kit provides a section on implementing the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) with your coalition activities. For more information, contact Terri Miller at tlmiller@ag.tamu.edu or 979/845-1804.

The assessment is completed by coalition members and the results are used to develop an action plan for the coalition.

Prevention Institute was founded in 1997 to address complex health and social issues. We move beyond approaches that target individuals, one person at a time, to create systematic, comprehensive strategies that change the conditions that impact community health. The organization builds on the successes of a variety of fields and applies them to new challenges in fields such as injury and violence prevention, traffic safety, health disparities, nutrition and physical activity, and youth development. Coalition building strategies can also be found on this web site.
