This page displays all 11 deficits
for a single county or city.
The following terms are used:
K-A Injury – This is someone who is either
killed or seriously injured in a traffic crash. This data is derived from
police accident reports.
Overall Rank - This is the combined ranking
based on rank by number and rank by percent. By ranking on both these, the
effect of county population on the deficit scores is moderated in the
overall ranking.
# of K – A Injuries – This is the actual
number of individuals either killed or seriously injured over the last
five years for which we have data.
Rank by # - This is the county ranking
based on number. The county with the most injuries is ranked number 1.
Where two or more counties have the same number, the rank for those
counties is averaged.
% of All K – A Injuries – This is the
percent of all K-A injuries that the given deficit accounts for. For
example, in a given county, Alcohol related crashes might account for 35%
of all K-A injuries.
Rank by % - This is the county ranking
based on percentage of K-A injuries accounted for by the given deficit.
